You will play an important role in our Special Projects team responsible for delivering a powerful, scalable next-generation vehicle platform for future Toyota and Lexus vehicles. This platform will comprise a new centralized electrical architecture powered by Arene, Woven by Toyota's flagship programmable automotive software system that integrates on-vehicle OS and data collection services with the cloud.

This team will create concept hardware and software solutions driven by high-quality UX research that defines an end-to-end product definition for Toyota's next-generation vehicles.

This concept work will produce a full-stack solution starting with the digital services, the programmable software system, and the underlying compute and electrical architecture of the vehicle.

This team represents the the latest of software and hardware development at Toyota. Your work will marry the speed of Silicon Valley software development with the standards of functional safety, craftsmanship, and time-tested quality of Toyota products in a prototyping environment.

This will be a hybrid position out of our Palo Alto office and report into a Staff Engineer out of our Special Projects team.

We are looking for User Interface software developer who has an eye for motion graphics, graphic design and experience with multiple operating systems and graphical frameworks. You are a generalist who has worked in multiple domains, including web, mobile and traditional applications, and graphic design. We are working on prototype and conceptual user interfaces for vehicles. We are not working on production systems, your role will involve cross platform development of design prototypes with a goal of creating a consistent user experience across mobile and in-vehicle displays.

You can go from sketches and concepts, to development & deployment, working with research and engineering as these projects mature into products. You are expected to be a collaborative team player for most of the software development process.
