Overview

NodeSource, the Enterprise Node Company, is looking for an Engineer to help develop the N|Solid Console and NodeSource Platform.

Responsibilities

As a member of the NodeSource Engineering team, you will be responsible for evolving the architecture and developing features for the N|Solid console and NodeSource Platform. Your team consists of very capable engineers who appreciate collaboration and creative thinking. You can expect to:

* Work closely with our designers in crafting user experiences

* Engage in highly technical assessments of frontend tools, such as React & Redux

* Collaboration with runtime engineers to design efficient data flows to enable a highly performant application

* Iterate on new data visualizations that help our users more effectively understand their Node applications

Role Expectations



An Engineer is capable of taking well­-defined tasks and completing them in a way that is considered by the team to be of high ­quality with supervision from more senior team members.

Engineers focus on learning how to set high quality bars for their work without sacrificing productivity. The expectation is that all engineers at and above this level will follow established team conventions without excessive handholding. Progression in this role will be affected by:



Improving the speed at which you learn from your mistakes

Knowing when to ask for help when you are blocked.

Focusing on developing expertise in one technology area while retaining generalist skills

Becoming capable of mentoring interns and new engineers in your area of expertise



Engineers communicate well and are capable of delivering feedback to peers and their manager. When given a task with unclear requirements they know how to request clarification and ensure that all assumptions are checked before work starts to reduce the need for re­work. Engineers understand how their work fits into the larger picture for their team. They use this understanding to identify conflicting requirements to their tech lead and product manager. An important focus is developing empathy for the users of your software, whether they be internal employees, customers, or other developers on the team.
