This approach, called 'advocate marketing', is proven to generate higher-quality sales leads, accelerate sales opportunities and improve brand recognition.

The founding team has previously built Eloqua, a marketing automation software firm that went public and was bought by Oracle for $871M in 2012. The team is now bolstered by leaders with one or more exits under their belts.

About The Job – Software Engineering Manager
Our Technology:

We have a distributed micro-service oriented stack with services running on Docker using Ruby, Java, Elixir and Go languages, backed by PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB databases. Our work typically involves a lot of background processing and inter-service communication using RabbitMQ, HTTP and Sidekiq. We’re primarily IaaS-hosted using AWS. You’ll have the opportunity to work with emerging technologies such as Docker, Mesos/Marathon, Kubernetes, DC/OS, etc.

We create a lot of new micro-services and are open to using new and different technologies such as Hanami (formerly Lotus), OrientDB, reThinkDB, and other languages and frameworks.

What you’ll be doing:

With the opportunity to build upon a category-creating, disruptive product, Engineering Managers are tasked to lead talented teams of back-end and front-end developers who are designing and implementing isolated services that plug into the Influitive stack. Working with a modern technology stack and scaling out processes using Docker, you’ll have a prominent role in the decision making for both the architectural and development process across our squads. And taking a leadership role, you’ll work directly with product managers, product designers, and QA engineers to bring our products and services to life.

You’ll act as a tech lead/architect while growing and mentoring up to 7 high performing, high potential engineers. Apart from solving complex software problems and coming up with pragmatic solutions to customer issues, you’ll continually motivate quality, productivity, innovation, individual ownership and impact for our engineers.

This role has a lot going on - and self-motivation is essential since you will be playing a key, senior role in Influitive’s product - ensuring that we continue to execute our objectives, provide significant feedback on deliverables, while maintaining our values and culture at Influitive.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with a little chaos, and wants autonomy and ownership over their projects. This person should be comfortable working with our current stack, with experience working on large-scale, distributed systems and consumer facing applications. Apart from providing guidance in areas of architecture design, refactoring and ongoing code improvements, we’re looking for someone to maintain and support our team culture, also capable of recruiting, engaging and growing talented engineers.

For this role, we’re interested in talking to people with at least 2 years’ managing teams in an Agile environment and 5 years of software engineering experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar - software engineers who are excited about scaling systems as well as scaling teams.

Why you want to work here:

Collaboration – We’re not about detailed specs, or “throw over the wall” mentality. At Influitive, every developer has the ability to have their voice heard and make an impact on the projects you’re working on. We’re passionate about collaboration, pair programming, and TDD.
Learning – We love learning. Our developers host hack nights, book clubs and board game nights. We have a generous training budget covering your choice of conferences or workshops. We’re committed to personal development for all our employees.
Fun – Influitive is a great place to work. We provide catered lunches 2 times a week, and are usually playing board games at lunch. We have great quarterly events. But we don’t want to live at our jobs. Work-life balance is extremely important to us, and we pride ourselves in not requiring the typical sweat-shop startup hours.
What you’ll get from us:

At Influitive, you’ll find an empowering environment where people are inspired to do great work, learning and developing quickly as professionals as they fundamentally change the way modern marketing works. (Check out our Glassdoor page to see what this looks like in action in the words of our advocates – our employees.) In addition, you’ll get some awesome perks, such as a MacBook Air, catered lunches 2X/wk, a learning and development budget, unlimited vacation, an office gym and showers, stocked kitchen with snacks, and a comfy Influitive hoodie. We offer every full-time employee competitive compensation including performance bonuses, generous benefits from day one, and stock options in the company.
